Surprisingly good little cafe, nice coffee, a wide menu choice and reasonable prices (for these days). Two decent fenced-off playgrounds for children and a hard-surfaced circular path to saunter round. Well worth a visit; great views of the city too and useful information boards in the visitor centre about Queen Victoria's visit.

I've not explored all of the park yet, but had a peaceful walk around a section of it in the Autumn sunshine whilst on my lunch break. The autumn colours and blue skies were a fantastic way to spend half an hour away from the computer.
I plan on a dry weekend taking my kids to the playground to see what that's like.

It was lovely to walk the dog. But there were also some naughty kids setting off fireworks. No fault of the park but not the 5 star experience that I'd like to give.
